One of the best & worst parts of fall was always school starting up again. Worst because it always meant waking up early and way too many moments in lectures that I’d rather be doing a lot of other things. Best because all my friends were there too annnd back-to-school shopping. While I’m not actually heading back to school this year, I did a little back-to-school shopping anyway. I took a stroll around Sears and found a lot of really great pieces. It’s always so nice when you can get fun new trends without having to pay the cost of a small vehicle. Crop tops are really on-trend right now and I like the structured element to this one. It paired well with the athletic jersey skirt. As someone with a more classic and preppy vibe overall, I’ve been challenged by the sporty trend. I’m never going to wear a trend just to wear it. I somehow have to make it fit within my personal aesthetic. That’s been a little tricky with the sporty trend that reads more streetwear & urban. So when I paired the chic little top with the jersey skirt and it came out like it did, I couldn’t have been happier. I think it works in a Ruby Girl kind of way. Plus the skirt and top together cost less than $30 so there’s that too… (cue monkey covering eyes emoji)
There were a few other pieces I picked up that didn’t make the post but that I definitely recommend trying on. I liked this pair of medium-wash distressed denim. They were slim fit and rolled at the hem, the Bongo brand. They fit so well and I’m pretty sure they were like $30? So yea. Totally worth it!
Also, a huge thank you to Rae at Haus for my darker hair. Girl knows color.
