HOW IT WORKS
Shop my selections for the ladies of the land. If I could snap my fingers and have any wardrobe right now, it would be all of the below. I have sections for general style – the catchall for all the good stuff in wardrobe, & a special selection for LSJ’s Fav 15, beach & swim (including fun beach day accessories like cover-ups, playful floaties, and the chic-est of umbrellas), for Jewelry, Accessories (hats, purses, watches, sunglasses), Footwear, Gowns, De Nuit, Delight & Diamonds, Lounge, & At-Home Chic.
From high-quality, versatile basics to flouncy flirty frocks galore, I’ve pulled my favorites from my go-to shops like Shopbop, Nordstrom, Intermix, and Revolve. For summer dresses, I love coming across emerging designers, new-to-me brands, and breakout lines like Camilla, Plush, Bronx & Banco, and the reliable sources for a perfect throw-on summer concert at Surf Lodge get-up like For Love and Lemons and Tularosa. I’ve also got some great spring/summer work wardrobe pieces that are fresh and chic. Some pieces will catch all eyes with movement or bright patterns or an unexpected silhouette. Some will delight with their structural innovation and simple but clever design innovation and raise that cool-girl bar for downtown weekend nights.
The 15 that are topping off my wishlist at present!
The beach is just another runway if you ask me. I love finding bathing suits with interesting silhouettes and fabrics and patterns. x Helen Owen has become a favorite, with an incredibly flattering cut and fit. One-pieces are poolside essentials, so must stock up on a few splash-stoppers. You’re never fully dressed without a pretty layer on top in case you need to step inside for a quick bop to the powder room or a meander to the fridge to make a sandwich. I’m loving billowy silhouettes that dust the ground and catch the wind.
I’m a believer in more is more when it comes to jewelry. Layer it on and don’t forget any opportunity to sparkle. I feel naked if I’ve forgotten a ring or a bracelet. My favorites right now traverse architectural and bold to dainty and detailed. I love curves and florals and beveled crystals. There’s nothing so alluring as a barely-there plunging necklace. I think accessories are a charming way to add some cheeky and clever to your wardrobe with surprising cameos by cheetahs or pineapples or lemons. While most certainly I am almost always wearing Goldfine Jewelry by my talented friend Sara Goldfine, the designer with whom I partnered in co-designing a line called Fantasme Collection, some pieces of which are still available today, I have discovered a couple of new favorites as well. Mignonne Gavigan, Stella and Ruby, and Lele Sadoughi, are a few new darlings.
So many ways to show your style. A killer handbag a one-of-a-kind cellphone case, an artisanal headband, a pearl-studded airpods case… all just a few small ways to stand out in the crowd. I am always a Gucci fan. Finding myself to be pretty consistently enamored these days with Cult Gaia. And discovered a new really fun designer, Namjosh. A few current top-of-the-list items for me are a gold chain belt, and some Victoria Beckham sunnies.
If you were a tablscape, your shoes would be the centerpiece. I love a pair of eye-catching heels. I gravitate toward luxe textiles and ornate embellishments and otherwise grandiose gravitas. One particularly enchanting discovery was Cult Gaia’s spherical heels (I linked 3 variations!), and in particular the transparent slides with a gorgeous flower petal within the lucite ball heel. Brilliant!
Gowns, the ultimate dress-up adornment. Eye candy for days in these stunning dresses. Draping chiffon and ombred hues, metallic pleating, pristine silk satins, massive bows, and regally ornate embellishments are characteristic of my most touted toggery. Illusion play and pops of feathering and fur also give a whimsical ethereality to a dress. Why not pick one out that will give you both a grand entrance and exit they’ll be talking about til your next entrance.
I love a lingerie / negligee and otherwise yay yay yay splurge. Some of these I own and some are on my wishlist shortlist. Slipping into these will have you feeling feminine and vixenlike in no time. Enjoy how that feels.
I think part of the reason Breakfast at Tiffany’s resonates so pervasively amongst the female folk, is because it’s a sweet indulgence of admiration for an inaccessible but admirable opulence. These pieces are fine art all their own. The craftsmanship is simply spectacular and the purity of the individual component altogether laudable. Save a lucky few, we can all enjoy a little window-admiring like our girl Audrey.
Ah to master the lounge look. Fall and winter hibernation prepares us for this ladies, we got this. The winning factors in the equation to legendary loungewear are peek-a-boo tummies, leggies or backs, sweaters so oversized you’re essentially swimming in them, and twisty/strappy/and otherwise unexpectedly detailed bras and tops. Shop away, these are a few I could see myself transitioning into lounge time with any day.
All hail comfy-cute daywear. I opt for smart style pieces that are comfortable, flattering, and that I can move in, because I like to do little baby no-sweat workouts all throughout the day. Ready-for-anything clothing that can leap at a moment’s notice to whatever activity your day may compel.
