I am so excited to share about a huge event I’ve been working hard planning and producing, together with HopeWorks for several months. Silhouette will make its debut this season on September 17 at Calhoun Beach Club as an elegant runway fashion show and fundraising gala with silent auction. One of the best parts is that 100% of proceeds will support community development and sustainability in Haiti through HopeWorks foundation. I could honestly go on for hours about the work of this incredible organization. To read more about it, head to their website (beautifully crafted by our friends at Backboard Group). HopeWorks has worked directly with Haitians to come up with incredibly unique and effective ways to stimulate and sustain economic growth. They also have a children’s home that has given orphaned children the opportunity to grow up in a warm family environment as well as obtain a high-quality education to equip them to achieve their dreams later in life. We are hoping to see this work replicated and expanded across remote and disadvantaged regions of Haiti with funds raised through Silhouette.
The upscale affair will present full, original collections from Project Runway’s Christopher Straub & local darling Caroline Hayden. It will also showcase up & coming talent Tess Ross. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be catered by D’Amico with runway production by Ignite Models. I’m looking forward to hosting the event (and going gown-shopping of course!)
I’ve already been blown away by the support by my family and friends as well as those in the fashion community, the press, and those who have found a good cause with me in HopeWorks. I hope you’ll join us for the event. It’s going to be unbelievable!
